Lawn Care & Maintenance in Apex, NC

Everything your lawn needs, from the weekly cut to a full renovation, done on a schedule you can count on.

Lawn Care & Maintenance

Done right, every time

A great lawn comes from doing the basics right every week and the big jobs at the right time of year. Our maintenance visits cover mowing, edging, string trimming and blowing, so the whole property looks finished when we drive away.

When a lawn needs more than a cut, we handle that too: core aeration, overseeding and fertilization to thicken thin turf, new sod for an instant lawn, and soil prep and topsoil to repair bare and worn-out areas.

Local know-how

Lawn care for Triangle grass

Most lawns in Apex and the surrounding towns are tall fescue, a cool-season grass that stays healthiest mowed tall, around 3 to 4 inches, especially in July and August. Cutting fescue short in summer is one of the most common reasons it thins out and lets crabgrass take over.

Fescue does its real growing in the fall, which makes early fall, roughly late August through mid-October, the best time to aerate, overseed and fertilize. Bermuda and zoysia lawns in full sun are different: they grow in the heat and are cut shorter and aerated in late spring or early summer.

FAQ

Lawn Care & Maintenance FAQ

How often should my lawn be mowed?

During peak growing season most lawns look best mowed every week. In slower stretches, like the heat of late summer for fescue, every other week can be enough. We can set a schedule that fits your yard and budget.

When is the best time to aerate and overseed?

For tall fescue lawns, early fall is best, roughly late August through mid-October, with September ideal. The soil is still warm for fast germination and the cooler weather that follows lets young grass establish before summer.

Should I choose sod or seed?

Sod gives you an instant lawn and works well for new construction, slopes that wash out, or when you need results fast. Seed costs less and, for tall fescue, is best done in early fall. We can recommend the right option after seeing your yard.
